Why Test and Tag

Obligation free quote? Absolutely!

The Occupational Health and Safety Act of 2000 states that: An employer must ensure that any risk of injury from electricity at a place of work is to be eliminated or, if the elimination is not reasonably practicable the risk is controlled by way of regular testing, maintenance and inspection to ensure they remain safe for use. Company directors and managers have a duty of care making them responsible for ensuring that employees and customers are in the safest workplace possible.

Industry figures show that around 3% of all appliances in the workplace are unsafe. These appliances have the potential to cause electric shock, electrocution or fire.

In particular the following information is required:

Test and Tag Brisbane, Queensland
The name of the person who made the inspection or carried out the test or Maintenance.

Electrical Safety Brisbane
The date on which or dates over which the inspection was made or the test maintenance was carried out.

Three phase appliance testing
The result of the inspection and test or maintenance.

Electrical Asset Management System Brisbane
The date by which the next inspection and test must be carried out.

Australian National Standard

The AS/NZS 3760:2003 Standard for electrical appliance safety was introduced in 2003 and applies to all businesses that use portable electrical appliances; this applies to anything with a plug! It is a legal requirement that all such appliances are tested on a regular basis to ensure that they are electrically safe for use.

An employer must ensure that a record is made and kept of all inspections and tests made and maintenance carried out on electrical articles. The provisions for the test and tag of equipment in the workplace are set out in the following relevant acts and legislation.

  • AS / NZS 3760:2003 In service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment
